Troy Bolton (Portrayed by Zac Efron) - Troy is a very sports guy. He is the captain of his school's basketball team. Troy's best friend sine pre-school was Chad Danforth. On one Christmas Break, Troy met Gabriella Montez. Little did he know that he and Gabriella would get to know eachother a lot better as time goes on. He is also the son of East High School's basketball coach, Jack Bolton. Troy can also sing very well, but he doesn't have much of an interest in that. He is very concerned about college to probably please his parents. |

Gabriella Montez (Portrayed by Vanessa Hudgens) - Gabriella is a very smart and talented girl. She and her mom has moved around different places many times, but looks like Gabriella finally found home at New Mexico. She also has a big sister, Rachel Walker; who she finally reunites with when she encounters her senior year. Her best friend is someone she first met while attending East High School, Taylor McKessie; both of which who are on the scholastic decatholon team. She is currently in a good relationship with Troy Bolton. |

Sharpay Evans (Portrayed by Ashley Tisdale) - Being one of East High School's drama girls, Sharpay is no stranger to that. Sharpay also has a fraturnal brother, Ryan Evans; who she "sometimes" treats as her poodle. She loves starring in musicals and performing. As she begins her senior year, she starts it off being the person we all know, but as time goes by, she tries her best to change her attitude after encountering a very life-changing moment which would probably change the rest of her life. |

Chad Danforth (Portrayed by Corbin Bleu) - Chad is a very laid back guy. Being a member of East High School's basketball team since his freshman year, he never actually experienced change. That all changed, when his parents decide that they all move to New York. He currently spends his senior year at Arlington High School; home of the Admirals. But will all this change when his love for Taylor becomes stronger? His best friend is Troy Bolton, and even though he's miles away from his old friends, he knows that he is still a wildcat inside him. |

Ryan Evans (Portrayed by Lucas Grabeel) - Ryan is mostly noticed for being Sharpay's sidekick in many things they do. But all that changes when he has the courage to stand up to her big sister. Ryan also has a style when it comes to hats. One big secret that he has is that his big crush on Gabriella Montez. Although he knows he can never be with her, he tries his best moving on. He is surprisingly a good player in baseball, and also has a great talent of singing and performing. |

Taylor McKessie (Portrayed by Monique Coleman) - Taylor is a very organized person. When it comes to school's extra-curricular activities, she would most likely be involved in them. When the start of her senior year begins, her boyfriend, Chad tells her that he'll be moving to New York. With that being said, Taylor thinks there is no hope. That is, until she meets Davon. However, one thing that she doesn't know is that this relationship growing between her and Davon might lead to some bad consequences. |

Rachel Walker (Portrayed by Vanessa Minnillo) - Rachel Walker is Gabriella's older sister. She is not noticed that much, being that Rachel hasn't kept in touch with Gabriella and her mom since the death of their late father. At the beginning of Gabriella's senior year, Rachel finally returns to Gabriella and her mom and they all reunite again. Rachel is also married to Dave Walker and is an English teacher at East High School. |

Davon Morris (Portrayed by Tahj Mowry) - Davon is a new student who recently transfers to East High School at the start of the year. He shows up to East High School right after Chad leaves for New York. Right when he meets Taylor, he and she hit it off right there and then. He may be a regular looking guy on the outside, but deep inside, there's another side of Davon. His last appearance is in Episode Seven. |

Jack Bolton (Portrayed by Bart Johnson) - Mr. Bolton, or as you may call him, Coach Bolton coaches East High's basketball team. He is also the father of "all-star basketball son" Troy Bolton. Along with being father of Troy, Jack really is concerned about Troy's future and college. Sometimes, Jack and East High School Drama teacher, Mrs. Darbus sometimes manage to get into quite a fuss with eachother. |

Kelsi Nielsen (Portrayed by Olesya Rulin) - A pianist and the composer of the Twinkle Towne musical in her junior year at East High. Along with that, she has also been a pianist at the Lava Springs in the summer (replacing the Evans' pianist). Kelsi is very creative when it comes to composing her own music. She first meets Jason at her junior year during the basketball championships. Now, Kelsi and Jason are a couple. |

Martha Cox (Portrayed by Kaycee Stroh) - Martha is a very outgoing girl. She always stuck to the "Status Quo" but when hearing about Troy and Gabriella going out of their boundaries, she too confessed she had a love for hip hop and dancing. By looking at her, you may be judgemental, but don't judge a book by its cover because Martha has her moves. She is also good friends with Jason and Kelsi. |

Jason Cross (Portrayed by Ryne Sanborn) - Jason, along with Troy and Zeke are all on the basketball team. Being a team player is very important to Jason. He is also somewhat of a kiss up when it comes to Mrs. Darbus; or maybe you could say that he's just like that. Whatever you say, East High wouldn't be the same without Jason's spirit there. Jason is currently in a relationship with Kelsi Nielsen. |

Mrs. Darbus (Portrayed by Alyson Reed) - Every school has something unique about it, and East High is glad to say that they have Mrs. Darbus. Being a very theatrical person, Mrs. Darbus loves the talk of musicals and theater. But, dare if you shall get on her bad side, you can say goodbye to your cell phone. For all of the students at East High School, they know to always put their phone on vibrate or silent if you ever have her class. |

Ms. Montez (Portrayed by Socorro Herrera) - She is the mother of both Rachel Walker and Gabriella Montez. Ms. Montez also has a job that mostly occurs moving from time to time. But she promised her company that she wouldn't move until Gabriella finished graduating. She is a widow of her late husband. Along with all of this, it is heard from Ryan that Ms. Montez makes the best brownies in the world. |

Mrs. Evans (Portrayed by Jessica Tuck) - She along with her husband Mr.Evans both are a very well secured family. With coming from a good luxury life, it's hard to teach her kids life lessons. But sometimes, when it does come up, she knows how to make her and her family become closer. Mrs. Evans is a very motherly person who enjoys being a mom to Ryan and Sharpay and also a little bit of work from time to time. |

Mr. Evans (Portrayed by Robert Curtis Brown) - Mr. Evans is a very busy business man. With all of this large companies that he owns, he rarely has time for his family. But he's not really the kind of guy that disses his family, Mr. Evans is also a big family guy too. He can be a bit push-over when it comes to getting what his kids wants, but there are times where he should learn how to be the strict parent to show Ryan and Sharpay the simple things. |

Victoria [Tori] Belle (Portrayed by Michelle Trachtenberg) - Tori is a cousin of Troy Bolton. She doesn't quite fit in and so as she got kicked out from yet another "preppy rich school", the Bolton's gladly excepted her into their family to help out. It's Tori's senior year at East High School and hopefully, this school will change her for the better. |

Cooper Wilson (Portrayed by Joe Jonas) - Coop is a new musically inclined intern at East High School. He moves from Colorado, where Gabriella also use to live. Coop and Gabriella use to be real close back at Colorado, and maybe again in New Mexico. When Gabriella has problems, Coop always seems to be there for her. Cooper is a very nice and talented person. The last thing he would like to do is get in the middle of things where he's not suppose to be in ... but this could change. |

Nick Delara (Portrayed by Dustin Milligan) - Nick is the one person who sees a different side of Sharpay than others do. As many see Sharpay being in Hollywood's Spotlight, Nick just sees someone else. Nick is someone very special to Sharpay. He loves to write but he writes "secretly" because his friends don't see him as a writer... and who knows, Nick might be the one to show Sharpay's true bright colors as Sharpay might do the same. |

Haley Evans (Portrayed by Sophia Bush) - Haley is another highly rich and successful Evans who finds her new business heading to New Mexico. Being a cousin to both Ryan and Sharpay may not be as exciting as it is, but that's before she ever decided to see how life is in Albuquerque. Stirring up drama is what she's good at, and it looks like more drama is coming as she makes herself home in good old East Albuquerque. |

Mia Lovell (Portrayed by Solange Knowles) - Mia is one of Taylor's friends when Taylor moves to go to Yale. They were both very close to each other until something happened which led Taylor into doing something for Mia that she thought she would never do. Although not presently seen in the series, Mia can be found in flashbacks of Taylor's life in college. |

Lucas Garcia (Portrayed by Michael Copon) - Luke is the half brother that Gabriella never knew about. Being given up from birth, it was his goal to find his real family. Lucas and Gabriella are very different from each other and its surprising to find that both of them are related. But this surprise comes more at a shock to all of them because not once did Gabriella's father mention about a son, not even to his own wife! |
